The SMEC (Samsung) SL4500 Series clearly out-specs the SMART MACHINE TOOL's NL 4000/L. It pretty much out-specs any of the 18" to 21" chuck, 4.6" to 6.5" bar capacity turning centers built in South Korea.
1. SMEC's (Samsung) SL 4500 Series can out turn just about any turning center in its class with 27" of turning diameter.
2. Not one South Korean CNC maker can match the turning lengths of the SMEC SL 4500 series with 49", 89", 120" & 197" models, nor can they match the Z axis travels of 52", 92", 123" or 201"
3. While the Smart NL 4000/L reports having a 60HP spindle motor vs. the 50HP on the SMEC SL 4500, it still falls 160 ft-lbs short of the 2581 ft-lbs of the SMEC
Finally, SMEC's (SAMSUNG) SL 4500 series is also the clear winner having the heaviest construction with the heaviest of its 12 models coming in at over 48,000 lbs.
