Automated machining centers run unattended as the raw materials are automatically loaded and completed parts are automatically unloaded in a manner of time that optimizes the cutting spindle's utilization. This is commonly achieved with an APC (automatic pallet changer) (or Robotic Machine Tending System) which is pre-loaded with blanks, or raw materials, and staging for processing seconds after the machine has processed workpieces on a different pallet.
